The New Boomerang openers features a floating axis design and the new foil cutting system. It is the quickest way to cut a perfect circle through the foil or plastic seal. The screw and 2 step lever work great and make this opener easy to use. The boot lever locks up straight during insertion. With the sprial fully inserted into the cork, the first step extracts about 7/8 in. of the cork. Press the boot lever in and the second lever pulls the rest of the cork straight out. The secret is in the "crescent" in the handle that keeps the spring-loaded floating axis in a vertical position. Nickel plated spiral, measures 5-5/8 in. long!
